New Dell Gaming Backpacks You Need to See

Dell is known for its gaming laptops named Alienware. These beautiful gaming machines need a match Dell gaming backpack to protect these expensive laptops from the outside elements. I am typing this blog on a Republic of Gamers ASUS 17-inch laptop, but I do so with no malice. I believe all gamers can be friends and admit they picked the wrong brand. Jokes aside, let me explain what makes a good gaming backpack in my eyes.

What makes a good gaming backpack?

Comfort

Dell makes some beefy laptops for our gaming needs. These computers can weigh in at 4-6 pounds. Its crazy to think that the Alienware m15 notebook is 4 pounds but less than 1 inch thick. We have to remember that these backpacks are expected to hold gaming consoles with their controllers. Thats not including the games and other accesories like headsets. There will be days when this bag is loaded with 10-20 pounds of weight inside.

These bags need to at least have the following features to make the list:

  • Padded handles
  • Padded Laptop Sleeves
  • Mesh Padded Shoulder Straps
  • Spine Curvature Canal or Air Mesh Backing
  • Weigh Less than 3lbs

Durability

When I buy anything I want it to last. I know I take this to the extreme when I complain about how fast flavored gum loses its flavor. However, a gaming backpack needs to have strong integrity and to last until at least the next console generation. All the dell backpacks I have added below come with 3 year manufacturing warranty. I think these warranties are too short. There are laptop bag companies that extend lifetime warranties like Timbuk2 and eBags. These made it to my popular Professional Laptop Bags for Men if you’re heart isn’t completely sent on a dell bag.

Anti-Theft Features

The main Anti-Theft feature I look for in a backpack is a low profile styling. Why? Well when I look at the general state of gaming backpacks, I see a lot of flashy elements on the packs. The only reason thieves steal things in public places are because they think they can get away with it, and that what they’re trying to steal is worth it. So if you’re walking around with a flashy backpack, chances are criminals will be eyeing you for opportunities to help you move around lighter for the rest of the day.

Plenty of space

We are talking about gaming backpacks. Most gamers will be buying the 17″ laptop behemoths because we want the most processing power we can get. The downside to having big laptops is that most backpack creators don’t make 17 inch options often. This is one of the reasons going to a brand like Dell who makes the powerful 17 inch laptops a smart decision to shop for a backpack to hold that bad boy. I want to see plenty of organize storage in the packs as well. There are plenty of small gaming accesories we don’t want falling to the bottom of one of the main compartments.

The Best Dell Gaming Backpacks *Updated*

These are all based on my opinion and the criteria above to measure the ability of a backpack from Dell to be a good choice. The Dell Pro Backpack 17 wins the best “all-arounder” gaming backpack. It’s sleek, low profile, and is one of the lightest options in the list. When you are the biggest, lightest, and most useful bag in the lot you tend to win things like competitions!

Dell Pro Backpack 17

The Dell Pro series comes in a 15 inch laptop size bag and a 17 inch laptop size bag. I applaud Dell on offering these big backpacks for real gaming laptops. I am very tired of only getting to choose oversized messenger bags for a 17-ich option. Apparently, other companies don’t feel the need to make a 17-inch gaming backpack. 15″ laptop owners are unknowingly spoiled on their backpack selection. You’ll notice this is one of the lighter options Dell has to offer. I think that’s a big green light for all the storage it offers and the features.

Features

  • Zippered Openings
  • Water-resistant
  • foam padding
  • EVA padding
  • 3 Year Warranty
  • Fits laptop screen sizes up to 17.3″
  • 2 Water Bottle Holders
  • Reflective Strips on Shoulder Straps
  • 1.85lbs

Dell Premier Backpack 15

The Dell Premier is designed to help you move through TSA in an airport quickly. Getting the chance to meet a long-distance gmaing friend who was part of your fire team or guild is easier than ever before. I have to show off all the RGB I have in my headset and laptop. This won’t offer all the space for extra gaming consoles or accessories, but its a great otion if you plan on packing light anyways. This also has an environmentally friendly manufacturing process. For example, the water resistance in the backpack is attributed to a protective material made from reclaimed automobile windshields.

Features

  • “S” straps contour to your shoulders
  • Impact-resistant Internal EVA Foam Cushioning
  • Air Mesh Back Panel
  • Padded Trolley Strap
  • Dedicated Portable Charger Pocket
  • Padded Top Handle
  • Water-Resistant, Anti-scratch Interior
  • Discreet Valuables Top Pocket.
  • 2.75lbs (Why so heavy?)
  • 3 Year Warranty

Dell Venture Backpack 15

The Dell Venture looks like a more urban hiking backpack. I know no one actually uses those twp words together to classify a style but it doesn’t look like a normal hiking backpack. Besides the look there are a low of useful features added by Dell in this bag. The shockproof padding is a nice touch for the backpack. This is the safest option for your laptop. I say this is the second best laptop bag in the list. The comfort, style, and safety features earned that spot.

Features

  • Zippered Opening
  • Rear Zipper or Top Opening Laptop Access
  • Shockproof
  • Padded Sleeve
  • Zippered Front Pocket
  • Durable exterior
  • Soft interior
  • 2 side mesh pockets
  • Reflective Accents
  • Air mesh Back Panels
  • Air Mesh Shoulder Straps
  • Organized Front Pocket for easy keys/wallet access
  • 1.59 lbs
  • 3 Year Warranty

Dell Pro Slim Backpack 15

I’m a sucker for anything labeled as “slim”. The slim marketing grabs my attenmtion but I don’t think it applies to a gamer’s worldview. I want more room to bring more games, capture cards, and controllers to the gaming session I’m late to. This is a greta option if you plan on only traveling with your laptop and are planning on packing PC-only accessories.

Features

  • Padded Handles
  • Padded Sleeve
  • “S” straps contour to your shoulders
  • Air Mesh Back Panel
  • Air Mesh Padded Shoulder Straps
  • Organized Front Pocket for easy keys/wallet access
  • Dedicated Tablet Pocket
  • Reflective Accents
  • 1.23lbs
  • 3 Year Warranty

The Dell pro slim is trying to offer the slim backpack style that is gaining populatiry. I think most gamers agree, we want more space or organization than a slimmer styling option. I wrote a post on the best slim laptop backpacks if you’re more looking for a slim backpack instead of a dell gaming one. The best slim backpack winner has a lifetime warranty.

The Gaming Backpack Conclusion

You can see where I stand on the gaming laptop bag by picking the Dell Pro 17. I think it takes first place easily in the competition between the lightweight, air mesh comfort support, and the sheer size of its 17-inch acceptance manufacturing. The Dell Venture is a close second. The shockproof feature is really nice to see when we are trying to carry around $2,000+ worth of gear on our backs. What do you think of Dell’s new selection of gaming backs? Do you ike the style? Are the older backpacks better? Let me know in the comments below.
